The Job
Job Purpose:
We are looking for a suitable candidate in the position as a Color Manager. Under the guidance of the Production
Manager, the Color Manager leads the color team in framas Vietnam. The color team is accomplishing inhouse
development and outsourcing of all colors used for plastic parts in the shoe industry. Special development requests need
to be followed-up and brought to mass production. In order to satisfy our customer request, we have to work with
challenging colors and materials for fashion items, while the industry is on a turning point of becoming sustainable. The
candidate needs to be able to work with and manage a team of color technicians in office and shopfloor, communicate,
schedule and advise development and customer requests and give best possible solutions. An innovative mindset pushing for improvement and able to try new ways is fundamental
Job Responsibilities/duties
- Lead the color team in Vietnam: Organize work tasks, set targets and evaluations, delegate responsibilities and duties.
- Coordination and follow-up with development team of framas for in-house color development, focusing on new challenging colors or raw materials and developments.
- Follow existing standards and continuously work on improvement projects.
- Establish and maintain supplier relations, standardize, and improve processes for colorants and additives, organize and keep track of quality issues and laboratory checks.
- Report directly to Production Manager and Bord of Directors daily, prepare and attend management meetings.
- Provide training and prepare training documents.
- Keep and improve safety in designated areas, follow-up on potential safety hazards.
Your Skills and Experience
- Degree in Chemistry or similar, preferred candidates with polymer or material studies and/or professional background in masterbatches or colorants.
- Able to work independent and self-confident, be a quick learner.
- Highly open minded for new ideas and concepts, willing to change old habits.
- Experience in color making and mixing facilities for the plastic industry.
- Deep knowledge about colors and plastics.
- Office computer skills.
- Good English skills is a must.
- Management skills, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Quality Management knowledge is a plus.
