Financial Controller
Accounting, Finance/Investment, FMCG - Ho Chi Minh
Salary: $5600- $6000
The Job
Role:
- Support the market unit by providing timely, accurate and cost-effective financial and management reporting in accordance with local requirements and Corporation policy. Provide financial stewardship of company assets and activities by safeguarding company assets, maintaining a strong internal control environment and implementing and overseeing efficient, well-controlled financial transaction processing systems
- Oversee the accounting operations and risk management compliance, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’ goals and objectives
Accountabilities:
Financial Control and Asset Stewardship
- Safeguard company assets by maintaining a high level of financial control throughout the MU
- Lead efficient management of working capital and cash flow
- Implement Company risk management initiatives and Best Practices
- Ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
- Exercise appropriate signatory authority as per company financial policies
Financial Reporting
- Ensure the timely development of relevant and reliable financial information to all ‘stakeholders’ (local statutory reporting, MU business performance, Company)
- Maintain monthly Balance Sheet Review and gaps are regularly monitored and closed
Financial Transaction Processing
- Implement Best Practice tools which improve the accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting
- Implement policies and procedures that support efficient, well-controlled financial transaction processing systems and which are responsive to the needs of customers, suppliers and internal partners
- Ensure account payables are paid in a timely manner and account receivables are collected promptly
- Ensure inventory control accuracy is at high level & fixed assets are well monitored with regular updates and treatment
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations
- Identify and pursue implementation of tax saving initiatives and avoid tax fine at the best
Coaching and Leading Control Team
- Build requisite general accounting, tax and administrative support capabilities in MU subordinates and Control staff
- Set regular dialogue with Finance Managers in the Control Team in order to understand their status and provide the advice and follow up if any
Others
- Participate in the frequent Tele. Conference with BU Controller and MU CFO to update the bright and hot spots of the responsible functions
- Keep management team update the progress of the GCS status with clear agenda
- Review the business contracts and authorize as the Schedule of Authority (SoA) defined
- Provide frequent counseling to functions when needed
Your Skills and Experience
- University graduation, major in Finance and Accounting. Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA is preferable.
- Experience in leading finance function in a rapidly growing, international business with at least 5-year experience in equivalent managerial role.
- Good knowledge in US GAAP and VAS. Familiar with all local reporting, tax, treasury and regulatory issues in Vietnam. Excellent finance and controls experience - able to ensure financial integrity and compliance with current and future corporate governance requirements
- Demonstrated financial knowledge of modeling, analysis, evaluation, forecasting, strategic planning, and decision making. Experience acting as a strategic business partner to management, keeping abreast of the latest economic and trading environment and the latest accounting standards and disclosure requirement;
- Good prioritization in delivering team and business objectives
- Ability to work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Strong communication and influencing skills, able to confidently liaise with people at all levels.
