Director of Cost & Contract

The Job

Our client is one of the biggest real estate developer company. It offers great potential to grow and great rumination package. The ideal candidate is required to have 10+ years’ experience in Vietnamese residential & commercial development areas in top tier developers or builders with preferred quantity surveying experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiation of subcontracts and supply agreements & Negotiating contractual deviations
- Consider and advise upon “best value” procurement options and present to Managing director.
- Establishing with Project Director the project priorities in respect of quality, time and cost
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
- Providing project costs for business case calculation to justify investment in the project
- Responding proactively to commercial opportunities & risk
- Providing the most accurate cost estimates
- Preparing Costs and progress reports to assure it stays on budget and sticks to the timeline
- Working with project director’s assessments of compensation budgets
- Guiding project teams on industry best practices on contract management practices
- All contract agreements are appropriately established in accordance with relevant guidelines requirements & compliances
- Experience in developing and delivering incentive based commercial arrangements
- Cost assurance and benchmarking
- Appreciation of program management and project controls
- Preparation and review of major estimates from concept to tender stage
- Project expert reports and cost consultancy
- Team management & mentoring
Your Skills and Experience
- At least 10 years relevant experience in Vietnam Residential and Commercial market (Required)
- Have quantity surveying experience
- Can-do attitude with good work ethic
- Compliant with company decision
- Proven track record working or leading multiple large scale projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of contract management
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial management, legal and governance requirements of major projects
- Understanding of risk & opportunity management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to lead team and coordinate with project director with proven track records in managing and motivating team of contract admin and quantity surveyors
- Eyes on detail
- Experience in implementing cost planning, 1st principles estimates, risk assessment, claim management
- Demonstrated competence in effectively negotiate with stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors
- Work in a systematic contracting environment
- Good comand of English
