The Job

  • Acts as HR Generalist for store population in partnership with brand leadership and HR Manager
  • Develops and executes Retail HR strategic plan to achieve local business goals and objectives 
  • Supports the talent planning process in partnership with HR Manager and Brand leadership and guides talent development within the affiliate
  • Coaches and educates the business on developing their retail leadership teams in handling employee relations issues
  • Uses and analyzes data to make business cases for needs with local and Regional leadership (i.e., input to be used for budgeting, recommendations based on exit survey, turnover reports, etc.)
  • Partners with brands on talent acquisition and developing local approach for attracting top retail talent
  • Partners with brands on Retail/Store/Counter Manager and Retail Leadership development through the global Retail Manager Program and other local leadership development training sessions
  •  Assists brands where needed with HRC administration and new hire paperwork/on-boarding sessions
  • Assists with talent selection in the interview process for key retail leadership positions aligned to global capabilities standards
  • Maintains a pulse on employee engagement through frequent in-store visits and ongoing dialogue with employees via regular focus groups and managing and analyzing the affiliate turnover and exit survey
  • Interprets and evolves policy and processes to support a fair, positive and productive work environment
  • Partners closely with Affiliate and Affiliate HR Manager/ Regional Retail HR Director and the Regional HR Community on an ongoing basis
  •  Acts as an agent of change and steward of culture in all transformational initiatives in relation to the retail population in the affiliate
  • Serves as employee advocate and ensures the voice of the employee is considered in all decisions
  • Participates in brand training and meetings regularly to build partnership and understanding of his/her customer and their business.
  • Provides market feedback on trends and shifts with competition and other types or retailers or industries that we recruit from or our team members leave to for the annual Retail Compensation review process.

Your Skills and Experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR (retail/FMCG/hospitality preferred) or 3 of those years in a learning and development/training role
  • Bachelor degree 
  • 2-4 years of experience in Retail Management, preferably from Beauty brand

Skills:

  • Passion for retail and champions the employee experience
  • Fluency in local language(s) required, English skills and fluency preferred
  • Ability to understand business data, assess to metrics and link analyses to performance in order to acknowledge and impact behavioral changes
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships across multiple professional levels, and has comfort working with Brand leadership in the affiliate
  • Proven success in delivering results; strong approach to developing business cases
  • Strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking and exceptional decision quality
  • Solid understanding of local employment legislation and policies
  • Ability to professionally and sensitively resolve employee issues
  • Experience developing and managing people-related initiatives
  • Excels at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Adapts quickly to changing needs and priorities, and manages ambiguity
  • Detail-oriented and innovative
  • Takes personal initiative and sets the example for others
  • Uses good judgment and discretion at all times
  • Comfortable working remotely if needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in technology
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
