The Job

JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE 

Job Mission:  

  • The IT Manager / Scrum Master for a Project Team is responsible of managing and coordinating project activities within a multidisciplinary team. He/she facilitates the team members’ cooperation and enhances the team’s performance and synergy in order to continuously meeting customers’ needs and expectations.
  • The large project value stream delivers business solutions that can be delivered within three to six months (multiple sprints/iterations) with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. It is responsible to manage the demand entry for large projects with the help of the IT Advisors and recommend priority sequence to ExCo.
  • The Vietnam Site Leader provides leadership for the IT team located in Vietnam, and liaise with Vietnam leaders, driving and ensuring excellent services are provided to the business partners.

Managerial responsibility

  • Direct reports: Large Project Cell members (usually 7-8 people)
  • Dotted line reports: Local leadership for IT Employees in Vietnam reporting to other Value Stream Leaders (2 people)

KEY RESULTS AREAS (KRA)

1. Vietnam Site Leadership

  • Main point of contact with Vietnam leadership team for all IT matters including support and development priorities
  • Manage and report activities and results to the Board of Directors of Vietnam legal entity.
  • Build, track and recommend the Vietnam IT Operating plan and budget for activities related to the location (office moves, improvements, etc.)
  • Ensure good working environment and high performance culture (climate, H&S, rules & policies)
  • Ensure priority management for Vietnam region needs, in collaboration with other VSL to consider the impact on their global priorities
  • Manage vendors negotiation and delivery in collaboration with IT sourcing team, with approval of impacted value stream leaders
  • Provide guidelines for fair performance evaluation among the Vietnam team
  • Ensure conformity in annual compensation reviews and promotions in collaboration with local HR and supervisors
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, and apply Lean/Agile standards across the office such as visual management
  • Responsible to implement and manage health and safety the office
  • Oversee the hiring process and participate as needed on behalf of other Directors
  • Ensure proper management of all physical aspects of the office so it is functional, clean, safe, reflect the proper branding and is coherent with our company image. 

2. Project Coordination and Implementation

  • Lead project development and ensure timeline is respected
  • Coordinate planned activities with team members to ensure the execution of IT solutions
  • Report to the Project Manager project advancement and issues
  • Analyze new IT requirements and ensure project activities are being executed
  • Participate in the validation of the solutions architecture and development

3. Manage Performance and Process Improvement 

  • Creates an environment conductive to team autonomy and performance
  • Lead and Manage the performance of the IT Project team members
  • Promotes improvement initiatives and IT solutions best practices
  • Facilitate new process implementation and sustainability

5. Team and People Management

  • Manage IT members and ensures roles are clear and the workload is well balanced
  • Creates an environment conductive to team self-organization and autonomy
  • Plan and facilitate team members’ skill development in order to enlarge their expertise and teamwork abilities
  • Oversee the team’s priorities according to project needs and guidelines
  • Shield the team from external interference and distractions to keep it in group flow
  • Coach team members on lean/Agile methods and practices, and act as ‘‘Scrum Master’’ 

Your Skills and Experience

Education :

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System or any related discipline.
  • A degree in Business Administration would be an asset

Knowledge / Technical or professional information:

  • Bilingual: English is a must

Experience (years, field, position, achievements…):

  • 5 years of experience in managing a team and leading global IT initiatives
  • Experience in working in an Agile / Lean environment an asset
  • Experienced ERP Project Managers with a proven track record
  • Scrum agile approach (preferable)
  • Experience with manufacturing SAP implementation project
