1. Ensures Customer and Market Growth
- Develop a fast and deep understanding of the market: traits include its mixed economy where both the private sector and government have significant roles, a rapid pace of change, and complex government and labor regulations.
- Represent the Corporate brand in the marketplace with integrity, and uphold our values, culture and heritage as we build our business in the new geography.
- Build brand equity in the market and work with Brand Leads to reinforce our Brand philosophies, ensure excellence in visual merchandising and marketing execution, and adherence to guidelines through internal and consumer education.
- Work with VP and Brand Regionals (where necessary and relevant) to formulate mid and long-term market, distribution and brand strategies to maximize sales and ensure brands’ growth outperform market by minimum one percent.
- Launch new brands; identify new channels of distribution, new retail opportunities, potential new local distributors in managing FSF/FSS, expand geography.
- Manage P&L responsibility to achieve agreed net and retail sales targets including COGs and NOP. Tight control of OPEX is key; strict monitoring of reimbursements to and approval for expenses by 3PSP.
- Monitor potential market risks such as Regulatory, economic, industry changes, threats to Intellectual Property or Brand equity, Health & Safety and talent retention.
- Gather market intelligence regarding governmental and legal changes, political and security stability and impact on our business.
- Monitor and understand our competitors and consumers’ behavior to align corporate and brand strategies.
- Proactively formulate defense and growth strategies for market share.
2. Manages Operational Effectiveness
- Motivate, lead and develop the team.
- Develop a clear and strong relationship with 3rd parties including distribution partners, retail partners, landlords, media owners and other industry players to ensure smooth operations, grow and enhance Company’s presence and reputation in the country including negotiating for best space and locations.
- Develop social standing in Vietnam in order to work with NGOs, KPLs, 3PSP.
- Ensure clarity of strategic alignment with VP/GM to daily operational execution, governance and control, roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure efficient allocation and prioritization of financial and human resources for maximum output.
- Monitor and provide input Brands’ operational effectiveness: retail pricing vs competition, brand category mix, inventory management for stringent lineup to minimize obsolescence and destruction.
- Negotiate and monitor all costs for operational effectiveness e.g. coop spend and support, rents and other 3rd party suppliers.
- Monitor grey market activities for brand integrity and minimal impact.
- Work with HR, Supply Chain and Finance teams for maximum efficiencies and compliancy.
- Update and practice drills for Crisis Management and Business Continuity Plans for relevance and to stay current.
3. Improves Business Processes
- Ensure all staff are continuously aligned and updated with corporate strategies and developments.
- Ensure all Company policies and procedures are properly recorded and executed for compliancy.
- Monitor and troubleshoot SAP processes with BRM, SAP site lead, IP Executive for improvement, value realization and cost effectiveness. Ensure continuous training for upgrading of skills including the efficient use of reports and data.
- Leads and Develops People
- Recruit and develop teams with professional integrity to represent our Brands for high productivity, skills and professionalism and ensure competitive compensation and rewards.
- To recruit, train and retain office personnel and ensure they meet performance goals and standards set by the company.
- Work with VP/GM & HR Managers to plan, rollout and monitor progress of L&D programs for Talent Management and Development.
