The Job

1. Community/Government Relationships: 

  • Develop trusting and long-term relationships with Community leaders, government officials, trade associations, business coalitions and senior leaders in the healthcare field. Develop and implement structured government affairs and public policy programs to support the company’s tactical and strategic business operations.
  • Through regular business reviews, align with management teams re: strategic focus and execution, resourcing and delivering on customer/community requirements.
  • Serve as a role model and coach to internal stakeholders for the planning and management of policy conversations with key government officials.
  • Maintain and develop a political network of government and stakeholder contacts at the country level and with other relevant organizations.
  • Drive trends in regional policies, guidance and regulations relating to health issues and effectively strategizes accordingly

2.Regulatory Affairs

  • Manages regulatory affairs plans and activities and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Drive all registration in cooperation with the involved departments, regional parties and headquarters to ensure on time – in full of needed visas, licenses for business operations.
    • Build up registration document systems and master plan to ensure all products/ procedures get visa/ registration on time so as not to impact sales/marketing and other in-country activities.
  • Act as an integrated partner to Sales and Marketing stakeholders by providing strategic political risk management perspective for cross-departmental issues (manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)

3. People Management:

  • Supervise, coach, be responsible for performance and career development guidance to team members.
  • The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Direct Manager from time to time.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Hold relevant Bachelor or Master degree. Pharmacy degree preferable
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Regulatory affairs and/or quality management with at least 5 years in management role.
  • Speak and write English fluently
  • Possess significant tactical and operational government/ government-related experience
  • Excellent influencing and analytical skills. Has the ability to identify challenging business issues and develop/ implement strategies
  • Strong communication skills. Ease at communicating with high level political appointees.
  • Confident and diplomatic. Seen as a trusted advisor and advocate both internally and externally
  • Team player. Engage effectively with HoDs in the company and at group level
  • Integrity. Good judgment.
