The Job
Role purpose:
In line with overall categories, BU and company strategies and by representing Procurement in cross-functional teams:
- Define and lead own category strategy
- Be fully accountable for own category performance and maximize savings
- Drive the realization of savings initiatives, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in own category
How you’ll contribute:
- Define and lead own category strategy and strategic sourcing
- Identify saving opportunities, drive initiatives and projects, identify and remove potential barriers to success at all operational levels, ensure the successful implementation and achievement of targets and results.
- Collect needs information, analyze spends and consumptions
- Prepare and execute Request for Proposition/ Tender and evaluate bids together with internal Stakeholders
- Ensure that the rest of the Procurement/Purchasing team execute the category strategy and actions as required and agreed.
- Lead suppliers/subcontractor audit partnership & development programs
- Assess potential and risks associated with suppliers/subcontractor’s capacity & capabilities and market changes, and integrate with category and sourcing strategies and communicate to all relevant departments.
- Frame Agreements/Principle Contracts negotiations including Vendor Managed Inventory & Consignments Stock Agreements
- Ensure the implementation and tracking of category performance indicators and achieved results.
- Assume full accountability for delivering targeted bottom line results for the category
- Provide regular reports and updates to Procurement and BU management as required
- Where Compliance is an issue, report, find and eliminate root causes in agreement with Procurement Director
- Other tasks as required by management
Your Skills and Experience
Education / Specific Work Experience
- Technical background/ Bachelor or Master degree of Engineering related to assigned Category.
- Minimum 4 years work experience in strategic procurement role (category management, sourcing) with exposure to supply chain management, complex strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards
- Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with requisite drive and energy to ensure that challenging benefits and capability building agenda is successfully delivered
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Internet, and Office processing software.

- Make or Buy proposition, assessment, and decision
- Strategic Sourcing
- Request for Proposition/ Tender preparation, execution, and bids evaluation

- Proven ability to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, establish, and implement solutions
