Packaging Specialist

The Job
Main Purpose of Job
- Supporting Factory to deliver and maintain optimum performance throughout the Filling & Packaging Operations in line with corporate packaging policies in terms of quality, safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Product Development & Introduction:
- Lead, organise and document packaging projects & trials for validation of new packaging and changes in specifications with focus on AI impact, cost efficiency on time delivery and product quality.
- Provide strong collaboration and support to Corporate Packaging, STC & GBU initiatives.
- Lead all additional new mould validations for Capsule Elements.
- Support shelf-life, storage handling, laboratory and transport tests for validation of new packaging and changes in specifications in collaboration with QA.
2. Continuous Excellence:
- Conduct value analysis; identify and recommend cost reduction and source optimisation opportunities.
- Lead or participate in GSTD’s, DMAIC projects and Muda hunting exercises in line with the goals of NCE Zero waste, Zero loss: Accountable for efficiency in Packaging Lines and Materials usage.
- Support to Procurement on local level.
- Drive and support packaging standardisation projects.
- Take rotational lead of Packaging Network workshops & monthly skype mtgs.
3. Safety, Quality & Compliance: Implement packaging related quality and compliance directives.Drive quality improvements in our packaging. Assist Factory QA to review packaging related on-line/off-line controls - to implement packaging monitoring plans.Participate in supplier audits.
Analyse consumer complaints related to packaging, propose & implement corrective actions.
4. Packaging Specifications: Develop & implement material packaging specifications according to GI 80.002-2 and Globe.
5. Supplier development: Support Corporate Packaging and Procurement in the selection, assessment and development of new suppliers/converters.Raise packaging material complaints with suppliers & collaborate to resolve them.
6. People & Know How: Ensure development of competencies of packaging lab analyst or supplier & disseminate packaging best practices and knowledge at the shop floor (e.g. "One Point Lessons"). Source & utilise training materials available within the Group (or develop training materials as appropriate).Identify gaps and develop competency matrix for Working Groups.
Your Skills and Experience
- Academic Qualification:
Graduate in Packaging Technology, Material Science or Engineering - General Experience:
2-3 years in Food Manufacturing Packaging
Project Management
Supplier & Converter Auditing - Computer Skills: Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook, Minitab
Level of English: Good
