Senior Buyer
Purchasing/Supply Chain - Binh Duong
Salary: $1500- $3000
The Job
Job Overview:
- Being as a Strategic Buyers performing the purchasing work per sourcing strategies that are in line with the Business Units objectives, support projects and all purchasing activities to insure the best total cost for Business Unit.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Responsible of sourcing performances and deliverables for development projects of the BU
- Select preferred suppliers for the BU in accordance with the pre-approved list of selected suppliers approved by the commodity teams of the organization;
- Participate to relevant commodity teams;
- Ensure availability of KPI necessary to benchmark BU sourcing performances;
- Coordinate suppliers development activities to minimize TAC (Total Acquisition Cost) for the BU;
- Work with R&D/engineering on new product introduction for unique BU material
- Work on strategic issues such as supply inventory management program, corporative supply projects, production vs. purchase and analysis, research supply sources in emerging countries.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with the suppliers performance
- Manage suppliers integration in the project in coordination with the Strategic Buyer as well as the Plant Buyer Planner
- Influence decisions by their intake expertise in supply and manufacturing capacity of the external suppliers (pace and quality);
- Prepare and maintain plans of projects
- Request for quote on new product development
- Define sourcing split and allocation for unique BU material
- Support initiatives related to suppliers performance management
- Ensure respect of quality and cost objectives on Sourcing part of the project
- Manage Sourcing risks and opportunities of the project
- Ensure use of functional specifications and value engineering technics
- Make supply analysis, be in charge and assess the feasibility of some development projects or of the introduction of new products;
- Implement and deploy Procurement cost reduction projects/initiatives
- Validate all Sourcing costs evaluation
- Ensure on time Sourcing deliverables
- Source additional suppliers when no pre-selected suppliers have been established in collaboration with the appropriate Strategic Buyer
Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 year-experience in purchasing of technical commodities in an International Business
Technical knowledge
- Knowledge on specific commodities technologies (rubber, chemical) and final product technologies preferable.
- Value analysis and value engineering/Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, team spirit
- Ability to communicate and to summarize
- Committed to deliver results, creative, rigor, problem solving oriented.
- Eager to get the job done, exceeding expectations
- Be able to work under pressure and with multitask
Language:Excellent communication in verbal and written – English & Vietnamese – French is a plus
MS Office and other applications:
- Good command of PC skills
- Experience with ERP (SAP an asset)
