The Job

Role Purpose:

  • Directs and coordinates all aspects of logistics operations for the sector, ensuring efficiency and optimal performance in accordance country and regional strategy and objectives. 

Key Accountabilities :

Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of the organization's business strategies, with a direct impact on business unit/function overall results
  • Oversees, monitors, and evaluates all operational aspects of logistics service delivery and performance for the line of business on the country level
  • Plans the proper installation, functioning and adjustment of all material infrastructure (buildings, transportation devices, IT, technology, etc.) needed to deliver logistics products and services
  • Steers the efficient coordination of human resources and logistics infrastructure to deliver profitable logistics services and products while guaranteeing for the safety of people, data and goods
  • Coordinates the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other  resources 
  • Analyzes and approves major operational investments in the country that best meet the LoB's needs 
  • Oversees the opening or closing of facilities and evaluates operational aspects of mergers and acquisitions so that these activities are completed on time and within budget and with minimal disruption to the organization's day-to-day operations
  • Defines operational service and quality targets and ensures their achievement for the line of business on the global level
  • Identifies complex problems and updates or modifies working methods in own role without the benefit of defined procedures
  • Implements significant modification within own authority
  • Makes directional and high-level managerial decisions and recommendations in order to achieve business and financial results, therefore preventing loss of partnerships and eliminating the risk of sizeable expenditures of time, effort, resources and/or funds.
  • Abreast in local laws, regulations and technology that may affect the business operations; Implements policy and procedural changes as required. Ensures the implementation of strategies, policies, procedures, and work standards towards the successful delivery of contacted services
  •  Accountable in budgeting and expenditures to ensure profitability of assigned sector and expected to support direct reports in managing their respective P&L.
  • 3rd party/supplier relationship management
  • Driving profitability using commercial levers

Customers & Stakeholders:

  • Driving profitability using commercial levers, also include business case, commercial planning and review
    (including investment appraisal)
  • Lead commercial reviews for growth and secure renewals
  • Proactive customer management
  • Customer interface, negotiations and issue resolution

Finance & Projects:

  • Co-decides all major operations projectsin the country within division

People Management:

  • Leads  and develops a team of senior managers with operational responsibilities to ensure that the organization achieves its business objectives on the country level
  • Approves key personnel decisions in operations for the country
  • Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to company and division
  • Leads and manages team; determines team structure, roles, performance targets
  • Performance management includes skills gap identification and development and career planning 
  • Mentoring/coaching talent,  EOS/employee engagement (multi site initiatives)

 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree of Supply Chain Management or Business Administration and other relevant ones
  • Minimum 08 years of relevant roles and have 5 years experience in dealing with local business condition, turnaround, closure, new/emerging market 
  • Wide operations/sector experience , new and existing business development and project implementation
  • Experienced in business start-up/closure, mature market and competitive industry
  • Strong vision & strategic thinking ability
  • Good in analytical & strategic business planning skills
  • High adaptability, innovative & change management abilities
  • Excellent in high impact communication & presentation skills
  • Good in customer orientation & partnership building abilities
  • Strong leadership & managerial skills
  • Well organized, result oriented and able to work under high pressure
  • Positive attitude & high level of maturity
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good command of spoken & written English
  • Willing to travel frequently
