The Job
- The Manager – Production Medical will demonstrate leadership in planning, directing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of a Medical production department. In this role the position holder will utilize his/her experience or expertise to develop and execute objectives for self and others, integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within area of expertise, be involved in middle-term planning and business strategy.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within an assigned department to maximize the use of the organization’s resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.
- Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.
- Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and initiate solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.
- Liaise with other functional or departments (for example in SCM, Engineering / Project or Sales) to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing production activities.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of section managers and supervisors who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, treating, or packaging. The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Direct Manager from time to time.
Contacts/Cooperation:
- Represents as a prime contact on departmental operations and assigned projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on issues often requiring coordination across organizational lines.
Impact of Decisions:
- Mistaken or erroneous decisions would cause significant inconvenience and expense and have considerable effect on achievement of business objectives of the organization.
Management Scope:
- Manages activities of a department with 2 or more section or sub-functions. Responsible for budget, cost, method, and employee results. May modify the structure of their organizational department upon senior management approval. Determines departmental objectives, sets goals and delegates assignments to subordinates. May have responsibility on one company major functional area. Develops and ensures the timely completion of medium and short-term objectives and/or complex projects. Initiate changes to organizational policies. For individual contributor: Plans for the effective development and implementation of technology or complex projects. Requests consultative directions as needed. Projects are inter-functional and critically impacted to company business.
Your Skills and Experience
Education / Experience / Professional knowledge:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related working experience or Master's degree or higher with 5 years of related working experience
Knowledge & Skills: Managers:
- Requires thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures and in-depth knowledge in one functional area.
- Drives the application of company policy, business objectives and determines the best business action in owned functional areas. For Principal Engineer:
- Requires advanced knowledge of a technical field, with in-depth knowledge in one or more specialty areas.
- Drives the application of technologies or technical concepts and determines the actions
