The Job

Job Purpose:

  • In co-operation with the Resident Representative and/or Division Manager formulate strategies for the business development and be responsible for their implementation.
  • P&L / Business Development - Planning / Customer & Principal Relationship-Reporting / Quality & Process Control / SMR & CRM implementation & update / Monthly Business Review.
  • Budgets, Manpower Plan and Staff Appraisals (PMS, LEADA) Incl. work programs (POA), job description 100 % confidentiality is required

Major Responsibilities

1. People

  • To motivate, train and lead staff to ensure that the sales budget is achieved.
  • To conduct regular business reviews and monitor the progress (or lack thereof) of sales staff. Weak sales performance should be identified at the earliest possible stage and solutions proposed to resident representative. At close of staff probation, your written review will be required;
  •  To ensure correct “distribution” of portfolio within the department such that strong performers are awarded with additional products, customers are receiving “due attention” and no sales staff are under worked.

2. Principals:

  • To develop and maintain favorable relationships with existing and new principals.
  • To develop and implement market/business plans with/for key principals, aligning strategy and business approach as well as ensuring both organic and in particular new business growth.
  •  To advise principals of market development by monthly/quarterly reporting and during visits.
  • To conduct market research and prepare market reports as and when required by principals to enable formulation of effective marketing strategies.
  • To co-ordinate principals’ visits, appointments with customers, develop and follow -up action points. In particular, visit schedule must be given four days before principal visit and a post visit report submitted via MORUS within two days after principal visit.
  •  To forecast consignment stock requirements with the objective of avoiding overstocking or ‘stock-outs”
  •  To review commercial contracts for RRs approval, and ensure having in deep knowledge of all terms and conditions as well as keep written record for all suppliers.
  • Make periodically supplier evaluations and thru directly action-involvement ensure that JJIV maximize business relationships and support towards growing the business successfully.  

3. Customers:

  • To develop new customers by promoting (I) the company (II) its products, to end-users. Ensure that samples and technical literature are offered with close follow-up being essential for continuous enlargement of customer base.
  • To develop relationship with existing top line customers through regular visit, phone contact and entertainment as when found applicable.
  • To attend to and follow –up on customers inquires, requests and complaints, especially technical matters in order to establish ourselves as a high “value added” business partner with the objective of “capturing” their attention as the leading supplier and “solution provider”.
  • To develop – implement sales strategy and targets among others but not limited to min. sales – profitability by Product and Customer. Further, ensure making periodically evaluations of the portfolio and thru directly action-involvement ensure achieving set targets.

 4. Working Capital Management

  • Monitor and improve account receivables both indent & trade thru direct/personally involvement on relevant accounts (e.g. past third payment reminder). In case receivables are potentially un-collectable, direct supervisor should be informed so that arbitration can be considered.
  • To review and prepare credit limit applications for new/existing customers and propose credit limits.
  •  Monitor, review and improve stock management minimizing business risk & exposure.

5. Main Challenges

  • To continuously seek and propose improvement of and/or within the internal & external process, so as to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • To establish and continuously improve product & market knowledge, so as to be more efficient.
  • o get JJIV recognized as the major and leading ingredients & raw material supplier in Vietnam within agreed key target accounts and core business areas.
  •  To establish solid communication and co-ordination with all principals providing a good base for further strengthening our business relationships and to support future business development.

 

Your Skills and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Chemical Degree.

Experience

  • 7 - 10 years solid experience within sales & business development in relevant field.
  • 5 years experiences in Management level.

  • The right candidate should possess strong technical and commercial back ground preferable covering strategic portfolio, having a MBA and/or commercial certificate-diploma and potential for developing into a future division Manager.

  • Past experience should ideally come from working with/for one of the major suppliers organizations.
